Dollar falls

LONDON, Jan 6: The dollar fell to a three-month low against the euro here on Friday on news that the US economy produced far fewer jobs than had been expected in December, reinforcing speculation that a cycle if US rate hikes may soon come to an end.

The single European currency in late-day trade had risen to $1.2143 from $1.2105 late on Thursday in New York.

The dollar was meanwhile trading at 114.42 yen after 115.87 on Thursday.

On the London Bullion Market, the price of an ounce of gold rose to $535.25 from $524.75 late on Thursday.—AFP
