Quake jolts


ISLAMABAD, Jan 5: An earthquake with an intensity of 5 on the Richter scale shook areas in the NWFP at around 7.47pm, the European Commission’s Global Disaster Alert System said. Its epicentre was around 68km west of Dera Ismail Khan and 335km south-west of Islamabad, while the depth was only 2km. The epicentre was determined to be about 7km north of Tank and lying close to the boundary of the Indian plate and the Iranian and Afghan micro-plates.—APP
