Shooting: Sindh snatch second gold

KARACHI, Jan 5: Sindh’s trio of Ahmed Sultan, Khurram Inam and Amin Karamat collected 225/225 to grab the second gold in the National shooting championship winning the skeet event at Naval Shooting Range on Thursday.

The three had earlier snatched gold in Trap team event.

Barring a major upset, Sindh marksmen are close to claiming the Shotgun Individual Skeet gold on Friday.

After first rounds in Skeet, Ahmed leads with 70/75, Amin is at second spot 69/75 and Khurram is at third with 66/75.

Army surprised the hosts Navy by annexing Free Pistol gold through Mustaqeem Shah who mustered 581/600. However, Navy’s Maqbool Tabassum, Irshad Ali and Kashif Riaz clinched team gold with a solitary point margin.

At the end of fourth day’s events, Navy lead with 11 gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals. Army stand at second spot with five gold, eight silver and five bronze medals and Sindh are at third position with two gold and a silver medal.

Skeet (Team): Sindh 205/225, Navy 190/225, Army 189/225.

Free Pistol (Individual): Mustaqeem Shah (Army) 581/600, Zahid Ali (Navy) 575/600, Maqbool Tabbasum (Navy) 574/600.

Team: Navy 1699/1800, Army 1698/1800, PAF 1620/1800.
