Two killed in as many incidents

SARGODHA, Jan 5: Two people were killed and three injured in separate incidents here on Thursday. Syed Waqar Hyder, reporter of a TV channel, was killed and his two companions seriously injured when his car rammed into a tree near Ajnala, some 15km from here. He was coming from Islamabad and lost control over the vehicle due to overspeeding.

In another incident, one Zulfikar Ali was killed at Chak No.120-SB when he was hit by a stone while excavating at a hill.

Most of the contractors did not reportedly take precautionary measures like provision of helmets and rope to their labourers during excavation. The mines department is least bothered about implementing precautionary measures.
