LAHORE, Jan 4: The preliminary rounds of the 53rd National hockey championship for the associations an departmental teams will be played from Jan 20 to 29. The PHF have divided the associations into two Regional Boards — North and South.

The Islamabad/Rawalpindi District Hockey Association will organize the North Round at Nasir Bunda Stadium, Islamabad on behalf of Punjab Hockey Association.

While District Hockey Association Hyderabad will organize South Round at the Hockey Stadium, Hyderabad under the supervision of Sindh Hockey Association.

The final round will be held in Rawalpindi from Feb 3 to 12.

Four top teams of each preliminary round of the association — Hyderabad and Islamabad — eight top departmental teams will qualify for the main championship.

Saeed Ahmed was appointed tournament director for the departmental round while Iftikhar Syed organizing secretary.

Pervaiz Kiani is the tournament director for the North while Ikhlaq Usmani is the organizing secretary.

Younis Siddiqui is the tournament director for the South while the secretary Hyderabad Hockey Association is the organizing secretary.

Saeed Khan has been named as tournament director for the final round.

POOL ‘A’: PTCL, ABL, KESC, PAF, Customs.

POOL ‘B’: WAPDA, HBL, Navy,Police.

POOL ‘C’: NBP, PIA, HEC, Railways, Sui Southern.

POOL ‘D’: Army, PTV, POF, Pakistan Steel. Regional Boards North: (Islamabad).

POOL ‘A’: Peshawar, Gujranwala , Northern Areas & Malakand.

POOL ‘B’: Mardan, Sargodha, Hazara & Faisalabad.

POOL’C’: Lahore, A.J & K, D.I. Khan & Bannu.

POOL ‘D’: Islamabad, Rawalpindi & Kohat. South (Hyderabad).

TEAMS:

POOL ‘A’: Karachi, Kalat, Nasirabad, Makran, Bahawalpur.

POOL ‘B’: Quetta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Zhob, Mirpur Khas.

POOL ‘C’: Multan, Sibi, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad.

Final Round Rawalpindi/ Feb 3-12.

The teams will be determined on the basis of Preliminary Rounds.
