SANGHAR, Jan 4: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that the water table in the district has risen because of non-operation of tube-wells installed under the Left Bank Outfall Drain scheme.

Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, he said the secretary for irrigation had been ordered to fix faults and make the tube-wells functional.

He said Rs25 million and two ambulances would be provided to the Sanghar Civil Hospital and vacant posts of specialist doctors at the hospital would also be filled. He directed that those doctors should be deputed at the hospital who belonged to the district.

Dr Rahim also promised construction of a guest house and said the Sindh government would bear its expenses.

He said residents of the Lundo town would soon be provided with gas and electricity facilities.

The chief minister also visited the Chhan Baboo minor and the Gujjar Wah and pledged to allocate Rs7.5 million for de-silting to ensure water provision at tail-end areas of the channels.
