KARACHI, Jan 3: The University of Karachi and South Carolina Centre for Biotechnology, Clafin University USA will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to start faculty-linkage programme between the two varsities.

Under the said programme, South Carolina Centre for Biotechnology will provide facilities of research and higher studies to the students of KU biotechnology and microbiology departments, said the KU Vice-Chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui before a lecture organized by the KU’s Department of Microbiology.

Dr Omar Bagasra from South Carolina Centre for Biotechnology, Clafin University US was invited by the varsity to deliver a lecture on molecular mechanism of HIV, who apprised students and teachers of the KU of the functioning of HIV and related details.—PPI
