KARACHI, Jan 2: Shamshad Akhtar, the first woman ever to be appointed as governor of State Bank of Pakistan, took up her position on Monday. Formerly a senior official at the ADB, Ms Akhtar was named in December as the 14th governor of the State Bank since its inception in July 1948.
