Man killed in clash

SHIKARPUR, Jan 2: One villager was killed and another seriously injured in a clash between Odho and Marfani tribesmen in the Darya village of Garhi Yasin taluka on Monday morning.

The clash occurred following a dispute on rotation of irrigation water.

Hamadullah Odho was killed while his brother, Ghazo Odho, sustained bullet injuries when the Marfani clansmen opened fire on them.

The injured person was referred to Larkana in serious condition.

Two of the attackers were identified as Luqman Marfani and his son, Mansoor. They were arrested by police following registration of a case.

The Odho tribesmen had earlier blocked the Shikarpur-Ratodero road near Sonwah with the body of the deceased.

On assurance of the Garhi Yasin TPO, the vehicular traffic was reopened after two hours.

BUS ROBBERY: Passengers of a bus were deprived of cash and other valuables by a group of four bandits on the Kandhkot-Shikarpur road on Sunday night.

The coach was going to Karachi from Punjab.

The robbers boarded the coach as passengers. When the bus left the Kandhkot bus stop, they controlled the driver and the passengers at gunpoint.

They escaped from the bus with the loot at Faizoo Larro.

THEFT: Theft of electric conductors has been going on in the Shikarpur district for last few months.

More than 500 metres of electric wires were stolen on late Sunday night by some unidentified thieves from Garhi Yasin new feeder near the Jafri village.
