KARACHI: Four die in road accidents

KARACHI, Jan 2: Four persons died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday. Police said that a man in his mid-30s was crushed to death by a speeding car on main Sharea Faisal around 8:30 am. Police said the driver of the car was also injured in the accident. Both the persons were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where the pedestrian was pronounced dead on arrival and the driver was provided treatment.

A 60-year-old woman died in a hit and run accident on Rafiqui Shaheed Road. Police said Waliat Bibi, was crossing the road in front of the JPMC where she was hit by a speeding vehicle.

She was taken to the JPMC where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

An 11-year-old boy was wounded and later died in a hospital when he was knocked down by a trailer taking a reverse at the truck stand at Mauripur road.

Police said that accident occurred in front of the Gate no 6 of the truck stand. The young boy could not be identified immediately.

In another accident, an 18-year-old unknown boy died in a hit and run accident in Gadap near Pakistan Hotel.
