KARACHI: Baloch parties stage rally against army operation
By Our Staff Reporter
KARACHI, Jan 2: Baloch nationalist parties, including Jamhoori Watan Party, Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) and Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Muttahida) organized a rally here on Monday against the ongoing military operation in Balochistan.
Carrying banners and waving party flags, participants of the rally converged on Karachi Press Club building and raised slogans against the military operation.
Addressing the protesters, their party leaders condemned the bombardment on civilians in Balochistan and asked the government to halt the brutal action immediately. Baloch people would never withdraw from their politico-economic rights despite all odds, they vowed, adding that their struggle for constitutional rights would continue.
Alleging that the government was using chemical weapons in its ‘war against Baloch people’, they called upon the international organizations and human rights bodies to fulfil their obligations in this regard, and exert pressure on the government to desist from further atrocities and human rights violations.
They observed that the government had determined to wipe out the Baloch people from their native land in a fresh bid to colonize Balochistan.
They renewed their resolve to fight the military dictatorship, declaring that people of Balochistan would defend their homeland at all costs.
Those who addressed the rally included JWP Vice-President Salim Baloch, Deputy Secretary Rauf Sasuli, BNP leader Zahid Husain Baloch and Baloch National Movement chairman Ghulam Mohammad Baloch.
