PESHAWAR, Jan 1: Minister of State for Water and Power Engr Amir Muqam has said that President Pervez Musharraf wants progress and prosperity of the country and any decision about construction of big water reservoirs would be made in the larger interest of the nation.

He said this while addressing big public gatherings at Marghar and Tarkai in Swabi district on Sunday. The gatherings were also addressed by PML leaders Salim Saifullah Khan, Nisar Muhammad Khan, Sajjad Khan Marghar and others.

On this occasion, Nazim District Swabi Sharam Khan Taraqai and his supporters announced to join PML.

Mr Muqam who is also president of PML NWFP, said that construction of big water reservoirs was need of the hour for agriculture sector. He said PML leadership believed in service of people and present government had undertaken revolutionary steps for providing basic facilities to them at their doorsteps.

He said in the recent local bodies elections people reposed confidence in the candidates fielded by Khushal Pakistan Group.

He said that the government would provide natrual gas to Swabi district at a cost of Rs50 million. He stressed upon the party members to work for further strengthening of PML in the province.—APP
