Three killed as trolley hits car

SAHIWAL, Jan 1: Three people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries in an accident on Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road on Sunday. A cell company employee along with his driver was coming to Sahiwal from Pakpattan by car (ASM-874) when a tractor-trolley (C-4415) hit it. As a result, employee Bashir Ahmed, driver Qaisar Iqbal and an unidentified man died on the spot while Javed and Bilal received serious injuries.

LOOTED: A bus carrying a marriage party was looted by five armed robbers on Jhal Road railway crossing here on Sunday.

The marriage party, excluding bridegroom Hasnain Rathia and his bride, was returning to Gujjar Khan by bus (FDO-621). Armed robbers entered the bus when it stopped at the Jhal Road railway crossing. At pistol point, they collected 11 cell phones, cash and ornaments worth Rs630,000 and disappeared.

Fateh Sher police have registered a case against the unidentified accused.

28 POS HELD: Sahiwal police claimed to have arrested 28 proclaimed offenders and eight court absconders during a general hold-up here on Saturday night. The police, in an operation carried out on the orders of the Multan range DIG, also recovered Illicit arms from the arrested outlaws.
