Bandits on the rampage

SIALKOT, Jan 1: Four armed dacoits looted ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs5 million from the house of an industrialist in Bharath village on Saturday night. Unidentified bandits entered Muhammad Atif’s house, held hostage all family members, including women and children, collected cash and valuables and fled with the booty.

Cantonment police have registered a case with no arrest or recovery.

Two gunmen intercepted a loader vehicle and snatched Rs20,000 in cash from two poultry dealers Muhammad Boota and Akram in Glotiyan Khurd village, Daska.

Four unidentified dacoits stormed into the house of landlord Muhammad Idrees Gujar in the same village and made hostage all inmates at pistol point. Later, they scooped ornaments, cash and other valuables valuing Rs150,000 and fled.

Daska police have instituted a case.

Meanwhile, Daska police registered a dacoity case after over a fortnight.

Three armed dacoits had barged into the house of Rasheed Ahmad in Islampura locality on Dec 13. The intruders took all the inmates at gunpoint and escaped after collecting ornaments, cash, mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs50,000.
