By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 1: An activist of the Sunni Tehreek was gunned down by unknown persons in Saeedabad Sunday night. Police said Farhan, 22, was sitting at a side lane in Saeedabad when unknown persons on a motorcycle pulled and sprayed him with bullets and sped away.

The wounded victim was rushed to the nearby private hospital on Hub River Road where he died during treatment. Later, the body was sent to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.

A large number of ST workers gathered as the body was being sent to the Civil Hospital.

A spokesman for the Sunni Tehreek said Farhan was their worker.

Following the incident, tension griped parts of the Saeedabad and Baldia towns on Sunday night.
