Najeeb elected KPC secretary

KARACHI, Dec 31: The journalists of the city elected on Saturday the new body of the Karachi Press Club for 2006. Najeeb Ahmed was elected secretary. He secured 290 votes against his rival candidate Khurshid Tanweer who bagged 200 votes.

Khursheed Abbasi was elected vice-president with 254 votes, A. H. Khanzada treasurer (266 votes) and Saeed Sarbaazi joint secretary (254).

Ghazi Salahuddin was already elected president unopposed.

The elected members of the governing body are: Arman Sabir (226), Aamir Latif (219), Naqeebur Rehman (207), Guinevere David (206), Bilqees Jehan (195), Rashid Ajmeri (195) and Naseer Ahmed (194).
