Man shot dead, son injured

JACOBABAD, Dec 31: Three people shot dead Ghaloo Mal and injured his son, Chandar Lal, at the Munir Rice Mill in the Tangwani police area, Kashmore, on Saturday.

The armed men entered the mill office and started looting. When Ghaloo offered resistance, they opened fire, killing him and injuring his son.

The robbers escaped with Rs250,000.

Police shifted the body and the injured to a hospital in Tangwani.

ARRESTED: A bandit was arrested after an encounter with police on the Kashmore-Kandhkot road on Saturday.

Some bandits were looting passengers of vehicles on the road. Police reached the spot and exchanged fire with the bandits. Later, Ghulam Rasool Sabzoi was arrested and his accomplices escaped. Police also recovered a Kalashnikov from his possession.

Police claimed that the arrested bandit was wanted in robbery and theft cases.
