Rs195m fund for science projects

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: The ministry of science and technology has approved a Rs195 million project for research and fabrication of scientific devices by application of nanotechnology.

The project is aimed at strengthening and supporting all the existing nanotechnology projects being carried out in the country, official sources said here on Saturday.

The project will also contribute to human resource development by imparting higher education in the area of nano-materials to meet the needs of this emerging sector.

The products developed after the completion of this project can cater to the needs of telecommunication, computer and defence production industries with considerable export potential.

An important aspect of this project will be the indigenous production of semi-conductor, the sources said.—-APP
