HYDERABAD: Caretaker for Dialdas Club appointed

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Dec 31: Dist-rict Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil on Saturday appointed EDO (revenue) Abdul Sattar Jatto as caretaker of the Seth Dialdas Molchand club.

As per the lease agreement the club could only be used for social welfare activities.

City TMO Asadullah Rajput said the club was being used for commercial gains because two marriage halls were working in it.

Notices were issued to the club but they were not received by the management and subsequently the notices were pasted on entrance of the club.

The district government in fact seems to have acted in the light of a serious controversy and a possible armed confrontation between two groups of club’s members after a group led by Nasir Mehmood Pirzada got the club registered with the provincial assistant registrar joint stock companies on November 7.

The two sides are engaged in litigation in civil and high courts as well.

On Saturday evening, a heavy contingent of police headed by the DPO, MPA Aslam Pervez and TMO city Asadullah Rajput came to the club and took over its control.

The officials prepared an inventory of the club’s property including vehicles parked there.

District Nazim Kanwar Naveed told Dawn over phone that the club would be handed over to elected office-bearers after holding fair elections.
