KARACHI: Man shot dead by robbers

KARACHI, Dec 31: A man was shot dead in Samanabad here on Saturday when he put up resistance to bandits. Rizwan, 22, was intercepted by armed bandits near a marriage hall in Samanabad near Ancholi bus stop.

They tried to snatch his mobile phone and cash. Rizwan, a resident of Shah Faisal Colony, resisted the bandits, who shot him and fled with the loot, leaving the victim in a pool of blood.

The victim was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Later the body was handed over to the deceased’s family.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist died after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle in North Karachi here on Saturday.

Police said that Ghulam Hussain, 25, was hit by an unknown vehicle and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to a hospital. Police could not trace the vehicle responsible for the accident. The body was handed to family for burial.
