KARACHI, Dec 30: Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) President Sukhrob Kosimov on Friday invited Pakistan to take part in Independence Day Cup International tournament in October 2006.

TFF also sought cooperation and technical assistance from PFF to help revive the game in Tajikistan.

“We earned independence in 1991 following break-up of Soviet Union and have recovered from civil war. We are optimistic that PFF will extend its cooperation and technical support to help develop football in our country where the game suffered badly due to civil war,” said Kosimov.

“We are also looking for a series which will promote friendly ties between the two countries, and having a three-nation event involving, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan,” said TFF president.—PPI
