KARACHI, Dec 30: Mahmood Hamid became third PIA batsman to hit a century as PIA were strongly placed against Pakistan Customs on the third day in their Patron’s Trophy Grade-I tie against Pakistan Customs at UBL Sports Complex on Friday.
Chasing 325 for victory in 113 overs, Pakistan Customs finished the day at 122 for two wicket, needing another 213 on the final day to save an innings defeat.
Opener Hasnain Abbas ended the day at 55 not out laced with nine boundaries and Afsar Nawaz was unbeaten on 24 with two boundaries. Opener Kashif Siddique was run out by Umar Gul for 31 which came with five fours.
Earlier, PIA resuming at 310 for five wicket declared their innings at 523. Mahmood Hamid after Kamran Sajid’s 147, and Faisal Iqbal (124) became third batsman to reach three figures.
Mahmood hit 11 fours and a six in his unbeaten 124 and shared 132-runs for the eighth wicket with Tahir Khan, who hit six fours and three sixes in 76-ball knock of 69 not out.
