Hussain books berth in last 16

PESHAWAR, Dec 28: Eight-time champion Muhammad Hussain qualified for pre-quarterfinals after securing a second round win in the 14th Frontier Cup snooker on Wednesday.

Hussain defeated Bakhtiar Khan (Swat) in straight frames 3-0 (65-44, 71-34, 66-30).

In the second match Iqbal Khan defeated Abdul Jalil 3-2 in a thrilling encounter which lasted two hours and 11 minutes. Jalil won the first two frames 34-67, 45-72 but could not keep up his rhythm after he made some mistakes which cost him dearly. Iqbal won the match 80-11, 77-45, 70-34.

Nasir won the first frame 56-44, but lost the second 31-70, and the third 13-80 to Umar. He then won the fourth frame 55-34, and the fifth 70-35 to complete his victory.
