Chitral termed a welfare state

CHITRAL, Dec 28: Speakers at a book launching ceremony said Chitral was a welfare state over the past few centuries despite under-development. The governance in Chitral had been more people-friendly during the past six centuries by comparison to its neighbouring states, they said.

The book titled ‘Chitral — a study in statecraft (1329-1969)’ is written by Prof Rehmat Karim Baig and published by the IUCN with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
