KARACHI, Dec 28: The Board of Advanced Studies and Research, University of Karachi, has approved award of 13 PhD degrees, 15 MPhil, one MD and two MS degrees to its students, besides it has approved grant of admissions to 142 admissions in PhD and MPhil in different disciplines.
According to an announcement, approval of advanced education degrees was approved at a meeting of the BASR, held with the Dean Faculty of Science Karachi University, Dr Mohammad Qaiser, on Dec 19.
PhD degrees were awarded in the disciplines of physiology, sociology, pharmacology, chemistry, chemistry (HEJ), Usool-ud-Din and Islamic Learning while MPhil degrees were awarded in the disciplines of botany, geology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, microbiology, special education, pathology, biochemistry and anatomy.
Degree of MD was awarded in the discipline of medicine, MS degrees were awarded in ENT and ophthalmology. Similarly, the BASR also approved 142 admissions in PhD and MPhil courses in various disciplines.
Meanwhile, all candidates who were provisionally admitted to BS (SE) evening programme and have final percentage of more than or equal to 59.63 are transferred to BS (CS) evening programme on merit basis.
The last date for depositing the semester fee is Dec 30.
Meanwhile, all those candidates who are on waiting list and whose final percentage is more than or equal to 56.22 are provisionally selected for admission to BS (SE) evening programme on merit basis.
Enrolment forms: The examinations department of University of Karachi on Wednesday announced that enrolment forms of BL and LLM for the academic session 2005-06 will be accepted from Feb 1 to 15 with Rs650 as fee.
Enrolment forms could also be submitted from Feb 20 to 28 with Rs250 as late fee and Rs500 late fee from March 6 to 15.—PPI/APP
