KARACHI, Dec 28: Eight ships including a car carrier carrying palm oil, steel and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to the KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Satha Bum, APL Jeddah, Chemroad vega, and Stolt Azalia, to unload and load containers and offload lube oil and tallow were berthed after the departure of five.
The ships, which departed included Hanjin Busan, Yokhana, Meng Hai, and Chemroad Vega, while Johar, APL Jeddah, African Ibis, Fy Niu Shan, Hyundai Sprinter, Kota Waris, Satha Bum and Cape Scott are due to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.108m tons comprising of 14,876 tons of export cargo, including 8,259 tons of rice and 93,162 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Padang Halaban, with 7,500 tons of palm oil,Iran Baabaei, Mearsk Alaska, APL Orchid and United Prosperity, with containers, Emerald with 40,501 tons of coal and Sammi Superstars with 36,846 tons of steel coils.
