KARACHI, Dec 27: The eradication of TB is among the government’s top priorities and funds are being provided to TB control centres across the province to achieve the objective. Sindh Law Minister Chaudri Iftikhar addressing a seminar organized by the Provincial TB Control Programme and SAARC TB Centre, Nepal on Tuesday said the government soon planned to initiate free-of-cost TB treatment programme.

Dr Kashi Kanta, a senior medical expert in the field of TB and HIV/AIDS treatment referred to different research-based studies establishing that public awareness through media could play significant role in combating the serious health conditions.

Dr Rano Mal, Deputy Director, SAARC TB Centre appreciated measures being adopted in Pakistan to contain TB.
