Six camps destroyed in Kohlu

QUETTA, Dec 26: Paramilitary forces destroyed at least six camps of militant Marri tribesmen during an operation in different areas of Kohlu district while several miscreants were killed in a gunbattle with forces in the border area of Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts, on Monday.

Official sources said paramilitary forces continued action against militants’ camps attacking with helicopter gun-ships and arrested armed men from Jhabar.

Sources said that at least over a dozen armed tribesmen were killed in Peekal area of Dera Bugti district close to Marri tribal agency when five vehicles of alleged miscreants came under heavy attack during a gunbattle between security forces and armed men.

Official sources confirmed fighting in Peekal area but did not confirm the death figures. “Six camps out of total 13 has been destroyed during operation in Kohlu district,” sources said and added that action would continue against camps and hideouts being used for attacking law enforcement agencies and government installations.

“Militants’ camp in Peekal was working since long time and it considered a safe shelter for miscreants and criminals of Sindh and Balochistan,” sources said and added that this camp was also destroyed. Meanwhile, Hub the industrial town of Balochistan was rocked twice on Monday when two powerful explosions took place in the township.
