Cylinder explosion accused bailed out

Published December 27, 2005

LAHORE, Dec 26: The Lahore High Court on Monday granted bail before arrest to an accused of cylinder blast case. Petitioner Ehsan, a gas cylinder dealer, submitted that an FIR had been registered against him as four people were killed and six sustained injuries in a gas cylinder blast.

He submitted that police deleted Section 5 of Explosive Act from the FIR. The remaining sections under which he was booked were bailable, he argued.

State counsel M. Saleem Shad opposed the plea and stated that due to negligence of the petitioner four people lost their lives, therefore, he was not entitled to any leniency. — APP
