Nazim’s bail plea rejected


ABBOTTABAD, Dec 24: A local court rejected bail application of the nazim of Phulra union council of Mansehra district, Badeeuzzaman, on Saturday and sent him to police custody. He was arrested by the army on Thursday while receiving bribe from the quake-affected people of his union council for giving them compensation cheques.

After initial inquiry, he was handed over to the police. The army had conducted raid at the Phulra union council office on people’s complaints that the nazim was receiving Rs1,000 against a compensation cheques.—Correspondent
