HYDERABAD, Dec 24: Acti-vists of the Pakistan People’s Party -SB and its students and youth wings held a protest demonstration and observed a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Saturday against the proposed construction of the Kalabagh dam, greater Thal canal and delay in dispensation of justice in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.

Talking to journalists, Piral Majidano, Sattar Bhatti, Dr Lakhmir Palari and others said the Kalabagh dam was an anti-Sindh project and PPP-SB activists would oppose its construction. They said there was no question of a consensus on the issue.

They also criticized the inordinate delay in disposal of the Murtaza Bhutto murder case and the alleged ban on telecast of Sindhi TV channels in Hyderabad during the visit of President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

APTUO: The All-Pakistan Trade Unions Organization at a condolence meeting held here has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the demise of the central secretary-general of the organization and veteran labour leader, S.P. Lodhi, in Karachi on Monday.
