LAHORE, Dec 23: Holders, Pakistan Army scored their third successive win in the 2nd All-Pakistan Mushaf Ali Mir basketball tournament defeating Pakistan Air Force 78-51 on Friday at Pakistan Rangers Courts.
In other matches Wapda, another top team of the tournament, continued their winning streak beating Railways 91-65, Pakistan Ordinance Factory Wah outscored Fata 85- 63, Habib Bank Limited beat NWFP 72-61 while Brothers Club got a walk over against Frank Five.
Army were 42-26 up at interval and their main scorers were Pervez (27), Khalid (22) and Waheed (12). Asfandyar (18), Tanveer (15) and Imran (11) points were major contributors for the losers.
Railways gave a big scare to Wapda by taking two points lead of 41-39 at break. Railways recovered in the second half to emerge worthy winners.
Ahmed was their chief scorer with (27) followed by Sajid (18) and Akhtar (15). Railways main scorers were Adnan (27), Allah Baksh (11) and Laiquat (10).
POF finished the first half 45-38 over Fata and received help from Ahsan (27),Muhammad Sajid (18) and Sajid Ahmed (15). Sajid (19), Shabbir (11) and Sajidullah (14) were the main scorers for Fata.
Mahmood extended maximum help to HBL for claiming a win against NWFP by contributing highest (25) points. He received good support from Falak (12). Adil and Rehman with 12 points each impressed from NWFP.—APP
