Flights run behind schedule due to fog

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 23: Fog caused delay in departure of several flights on Friday. However, near-normal operation started at the Allama Iqbal International Airport at around 11am. The New York-bound flight (PK-715), Manchester-bound flight (PK- 709), Dubai-bound flight (PK-203), Damam-bound flight (Pk-345) and Multan-bound flight (Pk-331) left for their destinations between two and seven hours behind schedule due to the fog.

Khayber Mail, Awam Express, Tezgam, Karachi Express, Quetta Express, Faisalabad-Lahore Non-Stop Train, Jaffar Jamali Express and Korakaram Express arrived here some three hours behind schedule.

APP adds: Because of the fog factor, some domestic and international flights have either been diverted or delayed in recent days, a PIA handout said.

It advised passengers in the north of Pakistan to reconfirm departure timings of their flights to avoid inconvenience at airports. The inclement weather may continue for some time, it added.

To check PIA flight schedule and any changes thereto, passengers can call PIA call centre’s UAN Number 111-786-786 for Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad.

Passengers calling from other domestic cities and towns can call on the same UAN number by dialling code closest to the major cities cited above.

Passengers from the UAE can call on 8000-441-1270.
