Encroachers turn violent

OKARA, Dec 23: Police registered a case under 16-MPO against 56 people for blocking roads and causing damage to official machinery on Friday. Reports said during the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign by the Deepalpur Tehsil Municipal Administration in Haveli-Lakha, dozens of encroachers blocked roads by burning tyres. They also damaged the TMA machinery.

On the report of the Haveli-Lakha town chief officer, the police have registered a case against 56 people, including Maqsood, Siddiqui, Ahmad Qureshi, Saqib Ali, Tufail Bhatti and Omar Bhatti.—Correspondent
