Re-polling decision upheld

QUETTA, Dec 22: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court upheld the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold re-polling in the PB-12 Qila Abdullah II. The bench comprising Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani and Justice Nadir Khan Durani on Thursday announced its judgement on the petitions filed by Sarwar Khan Piralizai of Awami National Party and Qahar Khan Wadan of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, respectively.

Both the petitioners had prayed the court to declare them winners from PB-12 Qila Abdullah II in the by-polls but the BHC rejected their pleas and upheld EC’s decision of holding re-polling owing to large-scale rigging.—Correspondent
