Inzamam wants fast pitches

RAWALPINDI, Dec 22: Pakistan’s captain Inzamamul Haq after leading his side to Test and one-day series wins over England on slow pitches is keen to have tracks with more pace and bounce for next month’s series against India.

He said on Thursday: “I think we will have pitches with more bounce and pace against India. Last year we were unable to do this. This time with our bowlers enjoying good form against England we need to re-think our strategy.”

India tour Pakistan from Jan 6 to play three Tests and five One-day Internationals.

It will be the third series between the two countries in less than two years. Last year India toured Pakistan after a gap of 14-years and won the test and one-day series.

Earlier this year Pakistan drew the Test series and won the one-day rubber 4-2 in India.

Inzamam said: “After a long time we have our full complement of bowlers available to us and the pace attack did very well against England. I think that is our strength.”—Reuters
