Bilal slams four goals

LAHORE, Dec 22: Four goals by Bilal Hayee helped Learning Alliance enter the final of the Harvester Services Polo Cup beating Pearl Pure Water 6-4 on Thursday.

The winners led the first chukker 2-0 as Bilal struck his first, converting a 40-yard penalty hit and Usman Haye, doubled the lead cashing in on a 60-yard penalty.

The losers reduced the lead 2-1 when Saqib Khan Khakwani, who scored all four goals, scored first in the second chukker after a long chase of the ball.

Learning increased the lead 4-2 in the third chukker as Bilal scored his second while Junaid Ahmed added another. Saqib scored his second.

The winners had increased the lead 6-2 in the early stages of the fourth chukker with Bilal scoring back-to-back goals.

However, Saqib tried hard but could only strike two goals in a row to reduce the margin.

Four goals by Taimur Mawaz Khan enabled Guard Filters qualify for the subsidiary finals, after registering a narrow 6-5 win over The Collectibles Taimur Ali Malik and Faaiz Rahim Khan were other goal scorers.

For the losers, Umar Sadik (3), Kashif Jamal (1) and Agha Murtaza Ali Khan (1) were the scorers.
