MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 19: A two-member team of consultants from the United Nations’ World Tourism Organisation is visiting Azad Jammu and Kashmir to assess the losses caused by the Oct 8 earthquake to the local tourism industry and to provide technical assistance for its revival.

The team comprising James Jessamine and Omer Nawaz was in Rawalakot on Monday where it held meetings with stakeholders besides inspecting different tourist sites and damaged infrastructure of the AJK tourism department.

“You have got fantastic beauty, so why not to take advantage of it,” Mr Nawaz, serving as coordinating officer for the tsunami task force unit in the organisation, told Dawn from Rawalakot.
