Customs salvage a draw

KARACHI, Dec 19: Pakistan Customs salvaged an honourable draw in their four-day Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) at UBL Sports Complex on Monday.

Murtaza Hussain slammed a fighting 58 in 185 minutes with nine fours and Azam Hussain hit a defiant 49 with seven boundaries as Customs not only averted the follow-on but managed to reach 375 in their first innings after resuming at 237 for six.

SNGPL, who amassed 498 in their first innings, scored 100 for two in the second innings when match was called off seven overs early with the mutual consent of the two captains with no chance of result.
