CNS Open crown for Shabbir

KARACHI, Dec 18: The 54-hole 10th Chief Of Naval Staff Open golf championship ended in a blaze of glory for Shabbir Iqbal of Navy at the Karachi Golf Club on Sunday. The two-time former champion, Shabbir, carded a round of par 72 to finish with an aggregate of 207. Earlier, he had played first two rounds of 67 and 68.

Further four strokes behind was Nadeem Inayat of KGC who finished runner-up with 211.

The amateur title went to KGC’s Muhammad Ali Hai who logged 219 (71, 74, 74). Islamabad’s Tariq Mahmood and Cdr Ansar Mahmood finished second and third, respectively.

Ms Shireen Khan won the 18-hole women’s competition while Haroon R Khalon topped in the seniors category.

Danial Khan clinched the 18-hole juniors’ title.
