FAISALABAD, Dec 18: Police claimed on Sunday to have recovered a boy who was kidnapped for Rs20 million and rounded up four accused, including two women. DPO Amin Wains told newsmen that some people kidnapped three and-a-half years old Rizwan, son of Anwar Ali who works in Saudi Arabia, on Dec 12 and demanded Rs20 million for his release. The family agreed to pay money.

The police chief said the accused made a final call on Saturday and demanded Rs8 million with a threat to kill the boy.

He said special police teams succeeded in finding a clue to the accused and arrested Sarwar and Hanif from Chak 468-GB, Samundri. On their identification, their accomplice women, Shahnaz and Farzan, were rounded up with the boy from a kiln in the area of Garah Maharaja, Jhang district.

The DPO said the mastermind of the crime, Rafiq, was still at large.
