KARACHI: 3 killed in separate incidents

KARACHI, Dec 18: Three persons were killed in two different incidents of cellphone snatchings in various parts of the city late Saturday night. Police said two persons going to a wedding ceremony of their colleague were wounded in a cellphone snatching attempt in the limits of Pakistan Bazar police station in Orangi Town.

The two were identified as Ahmed and Ejaz, a watchman and driver respectively at a bungalow in the DHA. They were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. However, both were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

In another incident, a young man who was shot and wounded in a cellphone snatching bid in Nazimabad late Saturday night died in hospital during treatment.

Police said Muhammad Fahad, 22, was intercepted by armed suspects on a motorcycle behind the A.O. Clinic. As he attempted to resist them, they shot him and fled with his cellphone.

The wounded youth was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during the treatment.
