KARACHI, Dec 18: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee has chided the PPP’s alleged double standards, and maintained that “instead of staging the drama of anti-Kalabagh rally, it should explain its stand on the issue, especially when the PPP secretary general and president of its Punjab chapter are supporting the Kalabagh dam project.”
Instead of bringing the people of Sindh on the street and exposing them to various hazards, the PPP should explain its policy in clear terms. It should first protest against its Punjab leadership, rather than the government, it said.
Meanwhile, the MQM chief, Altaf Hussain, has asked literary figures and intellectuals to use their pen in building bridges and trust among people. He was telephonically talking to a delegation which had visited the MQM headquarter, the ‘Nine Zero’ on Sunday.
Members of the delegation assured Mr Hussain of their wholehearted efforts towards realizing the objective.
They also assured him that they would inform people about his ideals and objectives. Some of them suggested that in view of the selfless services rendered by the MQM’s Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation, it should be included in the WHO charter.
