Parents Day function held

SANGHAR, Dec 17: The quality education is a basic requirement for advancement and prosperity of a nation and the Pakistan Navy has taken the patronage of many cadet colleges to help this cause.

This was said by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Afzal Tahir while speaking as chief guest at the ninth Parents Day function of the Sanghar Cadet College on Saturday.

He said the Sanghar college was on the verge of closing in 2000 when it was taken over by the navy.

He appreciated efforts of faculty members and students for revival of the college.

He announced Rs500,000 for the college.

The commandant of the college, Captain Altaf Nabi Dar, apprized the naval chief of difficulties faced by the college.

He said provision of gas facility in the college was needed and the case was pending at the prime minister’s secretariat.
