Telephones out of order

By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Dec 17: Hundreds of telephones are lying inoperative as the cable has been damaged during digging for the construction of an underpass near People’s Colony.

The aggrieved subscribers said here on Saturday the highway department started construction of the underpass some two weeks ago during which a PTCL cable was cut as a result of which telephones in People’s Colony, Behari Colony, Bhangi Colony and adjacent localities went out of order.

They said they have been facing problems and demanded of the PTCL high-ups to restore their telephones.

It is learnt that the highway department has already paid Rs10 million to the PTCL for the transfer of cable but the company failed to do so.
