ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat says Pakistan can regain its world squash supremacy in not too distant a future.
“We are providing all facilities to the players and I feel our efforts will bear fruit in not too distant a future,” he said while speaking at the championship dinner held on Wednesday for the 22 participating teams of the World Men’s Team Squash Championship.
The PAF chief, who is also the President of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), said that PSF was looking after the budding players well and would give all support to them to regain the top spot for Pakistan in this sport.
Speaking on the occasion, the squash legend Jahangir Khan, now the President of World Squash Federation, called for maintenance of discipline and fitness as essential ingredients in players quest to reach the pinnacle of their sport.
“Pakistani players have talent but discipline and fitness should also be accorded due priorities,” said the record 10-times winner of the British Open title.
Also present on the occasion were two other squash legends Jansher Khan and Hashim Khan.—APP
