Case against four for rape bid

Published December 16, 2005

VEHARI, Dec 15: The Danywal police on Thursday registered a case against four people, who had allegedly attempted to rape two girl students at the DHQ hospital surgical ward the other day. The case has been registered against Wajahat, Imran, Mubarak and Aslam, a former peon, and started investigation against them.

Medical Superintendent Dr Nasir Dilshad has appointed Dr Bashir Saleemi an inquiry officer. The MS said the inquiry would be complete within a few days.

EDO Dr Pervez Haider told Dawn that nursing school ex-peon Aslam had been sacked a few months ago on suspicion of his loose morals.

The suspects, in the meanwhile, denied any such incident and claimed that the girl students had concocted a story.

The Danywal police station SHO said the case had been lodged on the complaint of the girl students and raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects.
