Heroin seized, 3 arrested

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized heroin, and arrested three persons in a smuggling attempt, a spokesman said here on Thursday. On a tip-off that narcotics was being smuggled abroad, a raiding party under the supervision of Capt Wajid Bashir Minhas, intercepted Dubai bound flight, E-4, at the Islamabad International Airport and recovered 2.2kgs heroin concealed in suitcases; 47 heroin filled capsules were also recovered from the stomach of accused Mohammad Akhter, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan.

During investigation, the accused revealed that he was carrying 80 heroin filled capsules in his stomach. Other two accused were identified as Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Sahiwal and Mohammad Yousaf of Multan.
