By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Two flights carrying relief goods for the earthquake affected people arrived here from Qatar on Thursday. The flights are the first major step by the recently-launched ‘Reach Out to Asia’ charity to help those in need.

According to a statement issued here, Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the daughter of the Emir of Qatar, headed a delegation of officials from the Reach Out to Asia and other Qatar-based charities on one of the flights.

During her visit to Pakistan, Sheikha Mayassa would meet the quake survivors as well as government representatives and other officials to discuss the rebuilding efforts in the worst hit areas.

The statement said the two planes would be transporting several tones of aid consisting of blankets, sleeping bags and tents.
