KARACHI: CS for early completion of projects


KARACHI, Dec 13: The Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman, has called for the completion of development schemes within its stipulated time frames so they could benefit people.

He stated this while addressing a review meeting of the Rural Support Development Programme (RSDP) on Tuesday.

The need for promoting departmental coordination for smooth execution of schemes was stressed in the meeting while it was decided to timely deal with matters concerning selection of consultants, staff and NGOs.

Mr Fazal exhorted meeting participants to enhance departmental coordination and solve minor issues immediately.

The representatives of the Asian Development Bank Asmat Shahjehan, who were also among the meeting participants, stressed on the RSDP components and urged for the strengthening of the Sindh Katchi Abadis Authority, a component of the RSDP.

The chief secretary emphasised the need for maintaining the quality of work and material and said the projects should benefit villages.

The DCOs of Badin and Sanghar put forth some proposals in connection with the implementation of schemes.

The meeting was attended among others by Secretary Local Government Mohammed Ishaq Lashari, DCOs Mirpurkhas and Umerkot, Project Director Fazal Nizamani and DG SKAA MN Abbas.—APP
